Front Split Sweater | OOTD

Sometimes you come across a piece that is so interesting that you just can’t pass it up. That’s  exactly how I felt when I saw this fabulous sweater! It’s a beautiful mix between a long cardigan and a pull over turtle neck sweater. I like to go for bold looks and it’s definitely an eye catching piece. It is casual and has just the right amount of coverage for a skin tight body suit or a fitted pair of leggings.

My skirt is sponsored by A Day N June and has a very retro feel. The light wash of the denim and the front zipper, combined with the high waist not only make it a perfect fit, but gives it so many look options. Of course, my converse seal the deal with many of my looks and today is no different.

I like to describe this look as “monochromatic with interest.” Leave me a comment and tell me what you think about this outfit of the the day, enjoy!

Anne-Joelle Designs | Scarf Styling OOTD

What do you get the woman who has everything? You get them something that has been luxuriously hand crafted with the finest materials by an artist that you actually know! When I met artist Anne-Joelle, I was excited to hear about the processes that she uses to create her one of a kind 100% silk scarves and handbags. I was not disappointed.

What I find so beautiful about these scarves and handbags is that the unique designs are rich and vibrant. Unlike most scarves, the pigment is just as bright on the opposite side. With a beauty like this, you don’t have to constantly worry about adjusting your scarves to the printed side because they BOTH look like the printed side.

These Anne-Joelle scarves are very versatile but stand out even more when paired with the LBD (Little Black Dress) or other simple looks. All eyes with be on your bold scarf. An Anne-Joelle  “foulard” is a classic piece that you can permanently add to your wardrobe. The quality of these scarves made in England and France means it will literally last forever. Lol The finishing work on the hems tell you all you need to know. Each one is hand rolled and finished off with a neat professional hem. Style them as a classic scarf, head wrap, or even to adorn your fedora. The possibilities are endless.

Anne- Joelle‘s handbags include her original artwork as well as the craftsmanship of leathersmith Daniel Biller. The soft grain leather, faux suede finishing on the inside, and 34-in Italian gold chain is a show stopper. These handbags are like nothing you’ve ever seen and you won’t see EVERYONE carrying them.

If you are learning about Anne-Joelle for the first time, do check out the website along with the artist website to learn more. It is so special to know the artist who creates your pieces. Even better is that, she’s right here in Houston, Tx.  When you check out the website use promo code SPRING17 for 20% off your purchase.  Let me know what you think about these beautiful hand made scarves and ways to style them. Enjoy!

Fashion Resolutions | OOTD

It’s nearly February and I am doing well on my new year improvements but I have yet to make any concrete fashion resolutions. I was recently inspired by Bonobos.com to share some of my fashion resolutions for 2017 because they’re focusing on varied textures and the perfect fit for their new collection.

Just like any other improvements, writing things down make it more visible to you and keeps you reminded of your goals. It will be nice to look back on this blog post months from now to see how I’m sticking to my plans as well as how I change through out the year.

My first fashion resolution is to include more textures into my wardrobe. I plan to do this by taking my fuzzy sweater collection to the next level. (Ha ha!) Seriously though, having a piece that is more textured and not just a cotton blend will really help add interest to an entire look. In this OOTD, a mock neck fuzzy sweater with an interesting side slit does it for me.

My second resolution is to experiment more with monochromatic looks. I love this look on others as well as myself, but I find it tough to make sure my “blacks match” Lol Outside of that color, there is a lot of room for styling similar colors together to achieve a monochromatic look with out it matching “perfectly.” I met this goal in this OOTD by choosing a pant that is a few shades darker than my sweater.

My final fashion resolution for 2017 is to consistently add in bold accessories to give my entire look a pulled together feel with flare. The bold gold earrings and rosy sunglasses make this look feel complete with a slightly retro vibe. Most popular sunnies nowadays are super reflective or completely opaque so I’m stepping outside of the box with floral print sunnies.

I’m sure it will be a challenge to consistently incorporate theses elements into my looks but I welcome it!  As always, the details for this look are listed below with links. I’d love it if you left me a comment about your fashion resolutions. Enjoy!

Ombré Faux Fur + Trouser Pant| OOTD

It went from hot to freezing in Houston and I’m happy about it because I can legitimately break out ALL of my faux furs!! This look is sooooo much fun all because of its unexpected elements.

First, lets talk about the elephant in the room, this ombre faux fur sponsored by SammyDress.com! I can’t lie, when I got this jacket in the mail I immediately opened it and petted it for 10 minutes. Lol It is so cozy and eye catching. This coat is for the bold, fearless, edgy woman. Just get one and think about it later! You wont regret it. Ha Ha!

I found this shameless “So Damn Magical” graphic tee at Beehive Houston. I went to a shopping event there not long ago. Not only did I have a great time, I found these cool pieces and got to hang out with amazing people. A simply worded tee with a loose fit but feminine light pink lettering is so perfect for my life. I’m not huge into pink but the symbolism in these words written in this color just did something for me.

As soon as I put my first leg into these pants I knew they’d be a perfect fit. The have a high rise, cool slits on either leg, and beautiful front seam details. What more could a girl ask for?

If you haven’t gotten a chance to visit the store in Rice Village go check it out. It is such a cute place to shop with pretty great prices. If I can afford it on a teachers salary than anyone can. Lol

Leave me a comment and tell me what you think about this look, enjoy!

My NYFW Experience 2016

It’s Nearly November and I am just now uploading photos from my first NYFW 2016. That’s how insanely busy I’ve been. This is a mash up of photos from my Sony camera and my iPhone so forgive some of the grainy shots.

I’d say overall my trip was amazing! I was only there for a few days and I was able to meet up with some fellow Houston bloggers and meet tons of new people as well. I got to hang out back stage at the Sandy Liang show and see the presentation. The LuLu’s party was so much fun and Maybelline hosted some amazing gatherings as well. I was able to snag some really amazing lip colors and makeup so hopefully I can show you some on the blog soon. One of the most interesting things about my trip was attending the China Fashion Collective. It was so amazing to see these AMAZING traditional designs. This collective was the highlight of my trip. Do enjoy the photos and I look forward to bringing you more exciting things next year!
