Easter Inspiration | OOTD

With the holiday of renewal and life (Easter) coming up this is the best time to find something short, sweet and casual to wear after church. Maybe I should have just started with “this dress has two pockets” but it is pretty dang cute. Its cool pink, yellow, and gray color blocked arrangement with a slimming design is all you’ll need. It has a loose fit so eat all you want. Ha ha! Grab a big purse to stuff your kids eggs in and some comfy sneakers and have fun with your family. Enjoy!

Fashion Resolutions | OOTD

It’s nearly February and I am doing well on my new year improvements but I have yet to make any concrete fashion resolutions. I was recently inspired by Bonobos.com to share some of my fashion resolutions for 2017 because they’re focusing on varied textures and the perfect fit for their new collection.

Just like any other improvements, writing things down make it more visible to you and keeps you reminded of your goals. It will be nice to look back on this blog post months from now to see how I’m sticking to my plans as well as how I change through out the year.

My first fashion resolution is to include more textures into my wardrobe. I plan to do this by taking my fuzzy sweater collection to the next level. (Ha ha!) Seriously though, having a piece that is more textured and not just a cotton blend will really help add interest to an entire look. In this OOTD, a mock neck fuzzy sweater with an interesting side slit does it for me.

My second resolution is to experiment more with monochromatic looks. I love this look on others as well as myself, but I find it tough to make sure my “blacks match” Lol Outside of that color, there is a lot of room for styling similar colors together to achieve a monochromatic look with out it matching “perfectly.” I met this goal in this OOTD by choosing a pant that is a few shades darker than my sweater.

My final fashion resolution for 2017 is to consistently add in bold accessories to give my entire look a pulled together feel with flare. The bold gold earrings and rosy sunglasses make this look feel complete with a slightly retro vibe. Most popular sunnies nowadays are super reflective or completely opaque so I’m stepping outside of the box with floral print sunnies.

I’m sure it will be a challenge to consistently incorporate theses elements into my looks but I welcome it!  As always, the details for this look are listed below with links. I’d love it if you left me a comment about your fashion resolutions. Enjoy!

Brunch Squad | OOTD

The weekend is near and with that come everyones favorite weekend activity, brunch!  Who doesn’t want to be apart of the brunch squad? It’s delicious food, day drinking and good company. I have the ideal outfit that will leave extra rom for all the food you’ll eat. Lol

I love a good graphic sweatshirt so this one is absolutely perfect for the weekends. Since weekends are all about being cute yet comfortable, casual is the way to go. For this OOTD, I took a cool graphic sweatshirt that I loved (cute tank underneath just in case I get warm), paired it with thrifted  denim shorts and topped it off with the best thing fall has to offer (a moto jacket)! On my feet are my converse because duh, they go with everything. A nice pair of sunnies for the morning drive and sitting outside and I was all set. The best thing about this look is after brunch, I can take off my shorts and crawl right into bed to sleep off all the food. Enjoy!

Victoria Dashiki | OOTD

I wore this victorian inspired dashiki in NewYork during NYFW 2016 and it made me feel like a ball of fire:untouchable and hot. The rich variations of reds, oranges and yellows give that blaze effect. It was as though I left a trail of flames in my every step. When you’re wearing the right clothing, it should make you feel invincible. I can’t tell you how many strangers loved this top and stopped me to ask about it. Every now and then, you must make a statement and on this day, I did it in this fabulously ruffled top. Enjoy!

Never Basic Tees | OOTD

I am beyond happy to bring you an OOTD sponsored by one of my absolute favorite places to shop. I have partnered with Old Navy to help you style tees  in a way that will make you feel like casual royalty.

Sometimes t-shirts can get a bad reputation because they seem so basic in nature. I have news for you. A great fitting, well made t-shirt in the right color and style is never basic! This OOTD shows you how bold and versatile a t-shirt can be with the right style tips.

For starters, take a #NeverBasic  Old Navy Tee that you love and build your look around it. To spice up a graphic tee like I did, go for something a little bit unexpected. I gave my relaxed fit Shine Bright tee a dressier look by layering it on top of a button down shirt in a contrasting  green color. The collar on my button down takes my tee to the next level, yet lets my tee do all of the talking. I paired my black denim jeans with this look because it provides even more contrast from what I have going on above the waist but it also ties into the color of the text on my tee. Lastly, in cooler weather one last layer does the trick. I’ve topped of the entire look with my medium length trench coat. One of the main reasons this look works so well is because of all the neutral tones. Keep that in mind as you pull together your look.

This is just ONE awesome way to style the heck out of a tee. Leave me a comment about how you can take your tee to level #NeverBasic , Enjoy!
