Graphic Pullover + Boyfriend Jeans

My summer vacation as a teacher has officially ended. I had my first day back to school and I am so tired. I always say, “There is no tired like the first day of school tired.” As I prepared this blog post all I can think about is how often we ask our children to be “nice” to each other. At school and at home it is a word that I used generously.

I find that as adults we tend to forget about being nice to ourselves! We do things we don’t like, each foods that make us feel bad sometimes and wear clothes that our bodies find restricting. We should all take a moment or two to think about how we can be nice to ourselves and try to remember to do that often.

For me, dressing comfortably especially when I’m with my son is one way that I’m nice to myself. Old Navy sponsored this look that allows me to run and play with my son while I look stylish. There is nothing worse than pulling and tugging on your clothing while you’re trying to focus on having a good time with your babies. A colorful comfortable pull over with boyfriend jeans and sandals that stay on you feet if just right for a day of fun and play. Find ways to be kind to yourself and do it daily! Enjoy!

Old Navy’s Spring Style | OOTD

This OOTD just feels like the colors of the sun to me! Bright yellows, variations of orange, and pale pinks really make me feel like spring is on its way. Old Navy did a wonderful job with their new spring collection because not on does this look great, putting it together was easy.

I adore bold textures and details so that lead me to mix this laser cut out top with a nautical feeling pair of striped shorts. It’s a great combination and the shorts act as a neutral in an otherwise busy look. The mirrored sunglass with a pink frame reflect light like the sun and the purse is the final blast of color in the fun look. No surprise that my Chuck Taylor’s were my shoe of choice. Ha ha! Leave me a comment and tell me what you like about this spring look, enjoy!

Powder Pink + Polka dots | OOTD

I’ve fallen in love with this powder pink & polka dot look over and over again because of its subtle yet bold statement. Some folks may think that a bold piece has to be bright, patterned or textured. While those all create bold looks, there are more ways to reach this same goal.

This polka dot top with flared layered sleeves is sponsored by Shein.com and boy is it what this look needs! It’s hard to go wrong with classic black and white polka dots but you can obviously see that this is no ordinary top. The white denim pants and black zip up booties compliment the top while another star shines. This light pink over coat is a real show stopper. I adore that the pink is so light people will have to stare at you to figure out its true color. It has an oversized fit in a classic style. What more can you ask for? Oh yeah, for it to actually get cold enough to wear it!

Black + Black | OOTD

Wearing all black is such a beautiful thing when you can get all of your  blacks to match. Ha ha!  When you wear black all of the time you know exactly what I mean. This cold shoulder ruffled shirt dress sponsored by MakeMeChic.com will make your life that much easier. The “all black” look is easier to achieve when you have fewer pieces to include. All this dress needs is shoes and accessories.

Choosing this “Viv” hat sponsored by Jamie Slye to compliment this dress was a no brainer. It too has an amazing rich color and fun story to got with it. The Viv is made in the USA, completely crushable, and water repellent. If you’ve seen my three year old son Grant you’d know that I NEED this kind of durability with anything that he comes in contact with.

Lastly, I paired my booties from Old Navy to finish off this look and I was all set. This OOTD with take you no time to get dressed and can easily be duplicated. Send me pictures and leave me comments about how you could style a similar OOTD. Enjoy!

Rosy Knit | OOTD

The first thing you MUST know is that I thrifted this rosy knit dress for around $3. I KNOW!!!! The second this you should know is…this is the perfect way to “do” Fall in Houston. It’s still warm but it is finally cooling off so having a loosely knit sweater is the way to go. I know you must be wondering what I’m wearing underneath. I took a walk on the bold side so I opted for a sleeveless body suit/leotard. Of course if you’d like this look to be more modest you could wear a slip dress for more coverage.

You know I can’t live with out my seasoned converse. They really help keep this look casual and effortless. I styled my trusty denim jacket with this look just in case the wind blows and I catch a chill on my barely covered backside. Lol A nice stand out pair of sunnies to complete this look and you are good to go. Enjoy!
