Shop in Your Man’s Closet for a Sporty Look

The sporty athleisure look has been around for quite awhile now but if you haven’t tried it yet, I have a brilliant way to  get you started! Go looking through your man’s closet and you will find just what you need to get that oversized slouchy look without putting to much effort into it.

Start by looking through your guy’s side of the closet. Look for baseball jerseys and anything that has at least a few buttons going down the front.  Once you find that section of the closet look for your favorite colors, patterns, and prints. Now that you have one that you like, put it on and undo the first two or three buttons. At this point, arrange the shirt so that it hangs off of one shoulder or you can have it hang completely off both shoulders.

That was the hard part. Now, you get to spice up this slouchy oversized look with some other items to to make this look feel more pulled together. Think shoes, purses, earrings, and jeans. To make my styling more feminine, I matched a fitted deconstructed jean with high heels that are colorful and funky. Feel free to play around with this because the possibilities are endless.

Now you are all set to go out and have fun plus, you will be comfortable doing  it! Enjoy!

White One Piece Swimsuit

I love this simple white swimsuit because with just a few cool accessories you can make your pool/beach look unforgettable and effortless. When you go to the beach you want it to be a care free experience so you don’t necessarily want to take your coveted accessories to be lost, damaged or stolen. To fix that problem, minimize the items your bring or wear to the water.

The first way I styled this white swimsuit is with may favorite red lip, and yellow acrylic sunglasses. That’s it! I will most likely wear my sunglasses so I don’t have much to loose yet this is still a styled look.

The second way I styled this white one piece swimsuit is with a very stylish pair of cat eye sunglasses (won’t loose them because they’ll be on my face) and some fun popsicle earrings. With this styling I only have one thing I need to seriously keep up with and I can hang on to one pair of earring while I’m on a trip to the water.

No matter which one I choose, I still look stylish and fashionable with minimal effort. That’s always a goal of mine. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think about this look. As always, enjoy!

Industrial Summer Floral

If you’re wondering why I look so happy in this first shot, it’s because I thrifted most of this look and it only cost me about $10 bucks!

I’m always thinking about how much money I spend on clothing. I can’t not shop so the answer to my shopping situation is to spend significantly less money on my clothing. The inspiration behind this look was bring summer floral to the industrial city. This was perfectly captured at Winter Street Studios in Houston, Tx.

For this look I wanted something loose and airy, yet my love for mixing prints and having a pop of color is always there. The key to making this look work was choosing two different prints with a color in common that does nott compete with each other. My skirt is red with a small print that you can’t see very well from a distance. The top has a pretty even spread of several colors but the pops of red flowers make it a perfect match for the skirt.

To accent another color from my floral top, I used a turquoise/blue tassel earring to bring out more colors. For my shoes I put on my comfortable white converse. I have had them for sometime and I’m sure I should wash them soon but part of me looks at the wear and tear like seasoning. My converse get a bit better every time I wear them.

Leave me a comment and tell me what your favorite part of this look is. Enjoy!

Water Safety with Wolfies Swim School

Grant Learning swim form.

Thank you Wolfies Swim School for partnering with me to bring this post to my followers!

It’s time! My baby boy is 4 years old and he needs to learn how to swim. Not only will it be a confidence booster for Grant but knowing how to be safe in the water could potentially save his life. Statistically children 1-4 are at the highest risk of drowning and like most parents, I don’t want to put my child at risk by not arming him with skills and knowledge.

Wolfies Swim School began in Houston’s Meyerland neighborhood in 2005 and through amazing customer service and quality instruction grew to the Bellaire & West University locations.Wolfies provides swim lessons for children and adults and is the best in the business.

When I signed Grant up for Wolfies the process was really easy! The Wolfies staff walked me through the entire process and even called to check on us as Grant’s lessons progressed. One of the best things about signing up for Wolfies was that they asked me what MY swim goal were for Grant. We signed up for a week of everyday lessons and four weeks of weekly lessons as a way to immerse him and give him several opportunities to get comfortable with being in the water.  As a mom I wondered how Grant would react to swim lessons simply because he is fearful of water. Even at bath time if water would get on his face or ears I could tell that he didn’t like it immediately.

I have to say that on the first day there were some tears and fear but by the second day he was a willing little swimmer. Grant went from not wanting to put his face or ears in the water to asking if he could jump in the pool! I see Grant progressing towards the goals that I’d hoped he would accomplish already. In his first week, Grant began blowing bubbles, being more comfortable with putting his face and ears on the water, climbing out of the pool, and pushing off the platform with his feet. WHat I love most is that Wolfies is helping Grant to be safe in the water. The Wolfies teachers are so calm and relaxed with the children. They push the children within their comfort zones. The small class sizes, fun teachers, and amazing instruction is just what our family needed. We still have more lessons to go and I can already say, we are Wolfies for life!

Blue Hues with mywalit | OOTD

When you love color the way I do, you want it in every part of your life. It’s not always easy to find the perfect “thing” to cure your color cravings but when you do, it feels like it is heaven sent! I got this amazing matching purse and wallet sponsored from my amazing friends at mywalit.

Founded in 2005 in Lucca, Italy, mywalit is known for its colorful leather wallets, bags, coin purses and handbags. From vibrant stripes to fun color blocking, mywalit has you covered. When I styled this look I kept close to hues of blue simply not to overwhelm the eye. I love color but if done the wrong way it can just be too much. I wanted to incorporate prints into this look so the blues and whites came together beautifully as to not distract the eye too much.

To add a little unexpected pop to my first look I wore my favorite red lip and a coral earring. This provides some contrast and interest with out disturbing the cool hues of blue. In my second look I pulled in more colors from my purse. With my shorts and earrings bringing out the teals and turquoise in my wallet and bag, it kept the electric feel of this look.

Using your purse and wallet to bring more interest to your style is so much fun! Go to mywalit.com and get a fun colorful purse to add to your wardrobe. Enjoy!
