Shades of Gray | OOTD

I found this crazy soft faux suede tee dress at WildBloom boutique in Rice Village and it will be on repeat. It’s so comfortable I could literally sleep in it. I’m always on the hunt for things to wear that make my life easy. Getting this dress was a no brainer. It’s a wonderful shade of gray and can easily be dressed up a bit with cool booties and accessories, or more casual with a pair of sneakers and minimal jewelry. Speaking of booties, lets let these wrap around double buckle booties have their own moment! Aren’t they beautiful!?!

This combo is an awesome way to do fall in Houston. Finally cool enough for booties but still warm enough to show some legs! Enjoy!

How to Style a Statement Piece

We have all found that stand out piece before, purchased it, took it home with a smile on our faces, and each and every time we attempt to wear it, it just doesn’t look right. We know it’s not the piece because we still love it! The problem is most likely what we paired with the piece. Here are some tips to help you make a real statement!

The biggest question is, “What do I wear with it?” Most likely your stand out jewelry is either large, brightly colored, longer than unusual, or even intricately made. To help it do its job your clothing should be simple in style and color. Anything that competes for attention with the statement piece has to be removed! Solid colors with classic designs are the way to go. Ruffles, sequins, along with other bells and whistles just distract from what you really want to show off. I even took off my earrings so that this necklace shines.

Even your make up can be a distraction if it isn’t done right. Keep it simple and try a complimentary lip color (As I styled here) to make the look feel cohesive.

Now go out into the world, get those amazing  pieces and make a statement! Enjoy!

Navy Floral Maxi | OOTD

Thanks Zaful.com for sponsoring this sweet fall floral print maxi dress. This is as close to the perfect fall maxi dress as you will get. The dark navy color is just right for Fall and the white flowers are the perfect pop. What’s really cool about this dress is that it comes with the beautiful pearl belt. This would be a great dress for weddings this season. Plus, it has such great movement that you will just want to twirl around in it the whole time. Leave me a comment and tell me your favorite part about this floral maxi. Enjoy!

Fringed Sweater Dress | OOTD

This fringed sweater dress sponsored by Zaful.com is perfect for those days when you want something easy, yet interesting to wear for a day out. This dress is so soft and comfortable to move around in. The tassels add such a cool statement to an otherwise basic sweater dress.

Having the right shoe or boot can sometimes make or break a look. Since this dress is so simple, I paired it with my black lace up over the knee books that really make a statement. This dress could just as easily be paired with leggings and sneakers for a dressed down casual look. Mirrored cat eye sunnies, black tote bag, a bun and I’m almost done. Lastly, add in cool earrings and a bold lip if you’re feeling adventurous. I love outfits that look really pulled together but are really no brainers. This OOTD took minimal effort but packs a mean punch.

Leave me a comment about you style ideas for the neat little number, enjoy!

Color Blocked Maxi Dress| OOTD

Talk about love at first sight! Makemechic.com was kind enough to send me this incredibly chic and comfy maxi dress to review for you. I have nothing but praises to sing about this dress. The details are on point with a nice collar, buttons, two splits, rich color blocking and front detail.

When I wear a dress my major concern is, “Can I chase and pick up my three old son without revealing my entire backside.” Not only could I do that but I could also go to the buffet and not worry about my “food baby” showing after I’ve eaten too much. Ha ha!

The sizing runs a bit large. I’m wearing an extra small and I still have plenty of room in this dress. Leave me a comment about your favorite look to chase your kiddos in, enjoy!
