Natural Hair Pompadour

I get a lot of questions about how long my hair is right now and if I feel like I have enough versatility with this haircut. Although I am somewhat limited in my style choices I am being forced to be more creative with styling my hair lately.

Honestly, this length is a tiny bit awkward because it’s long enough to flop down when curly and wet, but it doesn’t look cute. Ha Ha! I’ve had success with pin & tuck styles, braids, and twist outs. Now I’m adding this pompadour to the mix. This style is even easier than the pin and tuck style I posted last week.

  1. First, I used a blow dryer to stretch my hair out. As you can see I didn’t focus on the ends very much because the roots were more important.
  2. Second, I took a small section out of the front and put the rest in a ponytail toward the front of my head.
  3. Next, I took the hair that I left out in the front, placed it over the ends on my ponytail and smoothed it out.
  4. Lastly, I tucked and pinned the ends and Viola! The pompadour is complete.

I hope you like this style and I will be adding more styles to the blog as i make them up. Let me know if you have questions about this this or any other natural hair style and I’ll get them answered quickly. Enjoy!

Feel the Fringe| OOTD

I’m definitely feeling the fringe! This cool bomber jacket sponsored by Romwe.com is definitely another way to spice up your average bomber jacket. The beauty of it is that it is super light, comfortable, and it has deep pockets. You could even keep this bad boy in rotation during rodeo time.

For this look, I layered this fringe bomber over an off the shoulder maxi dress. I mean, lets face it! When you wake up its in the 60’s but by noon it’s near 80’s. I cozied up my feet with my tried and true Preston Coach booties.

Embroidered Floral Dress | OOTD

Zaful Review: Just wearing this beautiful embroidered dress sponsored by Zaful.com makes my spirits bright! This is a wonderful example of the feminine touch that I love. The gathered structure is light and it moves well with you. Not to mention it will hide any food babies that may arise in the next week or so.

I also like the versatility of this dress. It can be worn as is, as a tunic with leggings, and ever layered with a jacket. I can see this being a dress to put on repeat during this holiday season.

Leave me a comment about your versatile piece for fall. Plus Zaful.com is having a a major sale right now. Click this link to enter, Enjoy!

Rosy Knit | OOTD

The first thing you MUST know is that I thrifted this rosy knit dress for around $3. I KNOW!!!! The second this you should know is…this is the perfect way to “do” Fall in Houston. It’s still warm but it is finally cooling off so having a loosely knit sweater is the way to go. I know you must be wondering what I’m wearing underneath. I took a walk on the bold side so I opted for a sleeveless body suit/leotard. Of course if you’d like this look to be more modest you could wear a slip dress for more coverage.

You know I can’t live with out my seasoned converse. They really help keep this look casual and effortless. I styled my trusty denim jacket with this look just in case the wind blows and I catch a chill on my barely covered backside. Lol A nice stand out pair of sunnies to complete this look and you are good to go. Enjoy!

My NYFW Experience 2016

It’s Nearly November and I am just now uploading photos from my first NYFW 2016. That’s how insanely busy I’ve been. This is a mash up of photos from my Sony camera and my iPhone so forgive some of the grainy shots.

I’d say overall my trip was amazing! I was only there for a few days and I was able to meet up with some fellow Houston bloggers and meet tons of new people as well. I got to hang out back stage at the Sandy Liang show and see the presentation. The LuLu’s party was so much fun and Maybelline hosted some amazing gatherings as well. I was able to snag some really amazing lip colors and makeup so hopefully I can show you some on the blog soon. One of the most interesting things about my trip was attending the China Fashion Collective. It was so amazing to see these AMAZING traditional designs. This collective was the highlight of my trip. Do enjoy the photos and I look forward to bringing you more exciting things next year!
