The Power of Classics | OOTD

The first thing you need to know about this OOTD is that the dress I’m wearing belonged to my mother and is over 30 years old. My mom wore this dress to my dad’s prom when they were 18. At this time in my parents lives my three siblings and I were no where in the picture. That’s only funny because my dad constantly reminds me that at my age he already had four kids. Lol

This dress proves the power of classics. This creme color, and design will forever be relevant and in style. Next time you’re out shopping think about the ratio between classic staple pieces compared to trendy items. You’re wardrobe will last longer if you have a good set of basics to mix with trendier items. Enjoy!

OOTD | Stripes and Culottes

Let’s give looking fabulous on a budget its own moment! This entire look costed me about $25 and I felt beyond classy in it. Of course anything black, white and striped catches my attention but this outfit works so well because of the classic colors. If these pieces were in a variety of other colors it may not last very long but I predict they can be mixed and matched for seasons to come.

The jewelry is from my rocks box collection. I’m not a big jewelry person so I don’t purchase pieces often. Most of the jewelry I own is very simple and minimal so it definitely helps to know I will be getting something in the mail that I can style with my OOTD’s. Enjoy!

OOTD | Classic Color Blocking

This is another OOTD like the perfect dress I posted a few weeks ago that is just everything I love. When I say  “everything I love” I mean black, white, coloring blocking, horizontal stripes, comfort, airy and loose. With the Houston heat having an outfit that catches a faint breezes is important.

I wanted this look to be minimal so the v-split in the back is what adds interest to a plain black top. Although they’re all white, the culottes themselves are interesting because at first glance you may not be entirely sure what they are. Not pants, not capris, could it be a skirt? No, they’re culottes!

My shoes are black with a wide faux snake skin strap across the toes. My accessories are minimal as well. I’m wearing my gold collar necklace and my gold nail bracelet from Charm Envy. The star of this look is the custom box clutch from Milan Blocks. On one side it has black and white horizontal stripes and on the custom side the the Authentically+B logo lettering. The chain strap is detachable so it can be used as a clutch or a purse.

This OOTD is fuss free, simple, comfortable and more importantly cool! Leave me a comment and let me know what your favorite minimalist look is, Enjoy!

Modern Tunic | OOTD

Modern Tunic, oh how I love thee, let me count the ways! It is like finding gold when you come across a garment that is truly perfect for you. First off this dress is black and white.(I’m so obsessed with these colors!!!!)  It is also modern, simple, and comfortable! The collar and partial button down placket gives it a really classic feel. Color blocked stripes on the shoulders make it sleek and adds just enough interest to the dress.

When I’m wearing this dress I don’t have to worry about it clinging to me or being too short because the crepe fabric is light and flows well. I could also take this look from day to night by starting out with a pair of chucks (To chase a rambunctious 3 year old around) and then throwing on a  pair of heels for evening. Since Grant wasn’t with me I opted for these fun criss cross leopard wedges for my day look. (Ummm, leopard prints are another obsession of mine)

I’m a minimalist at heart but color constantly calls my name so I accessorized this look with round cat eye sunglasses and a bold red-orange lip color. My black faux leather bag is simple as well but adds another element with its glossy finish.

Leave me a comment about which of your outfits is COMPLETELY perfect for you? Enjoy!

OOTD: Pure Comfort

All I cared about on this day was being 100% comfortable and cozy. I didn’t exactly want to wear sweat pants but I also didn’t want to wear real pants. Lol The next best thing is leggings!!! I can’t get enough of these textured leggings. The texture adds a special detail to something that has been done to death. Then all I needed was a shirt that was long enough to cover my bum. Add a sweater and light boot to complete the comfy look. Enjoy!
