Chain Mail Knit | OOTD

When the calendar says September, it’s fall to me! If only Houston agreed and cooled down by at least 10 degrees. Lol I can’t let these warm temperatures stop my preparation for true fall weather.

This OOTD is a casual knit sweater that reminds me of medival chain mail because of its weight. It’s from Banana Republic and it feels so good on. My trusty black denim jeans from Old Navy and black converse always do the trick to help bring together a casual look. Leave me a comment about how you’re preparing your closet for fall. Enjoy!

Utility Midi Dress | OOTD

It was love at first sight for this utility midi dress and I! You know I love classics! This sleeveless dress is a beautiful ode to classic military style and will easily become a staple piece. It can be a “stand alone” dress or layered with leggings, scarves, jackets, etc. The belted waist and lean design make it flattering on almost any figure and the front slit helps give you height.  Leave me a comment about you favorite military inspired look, enjoy!

Matchy-Matchy | OOTD

Some people call this OOTD matchy-matchy but I call it monochrome. It’s hard to mess it up and comes off super chic. Monochrome looks are a great was to start transitioning to fall. You can do it with most colors with out looking insane and it’s simple to do. I joke that it’s for the stylish and the lazy but both are true! Lol

I adore the muted worn green of this utility top and pant because it’s not a true hunter green. It will keep you cool during the final warm days of summer but can easily be comfy and cozy for fall. You can even layer it with a vest or bomber jacket for added warmth later in the year. Pair it with strappy heels now and booties when it’s cool. This look is really a win win for many seasons. Enjoy!

Flowers + Stripes | OOTD

If  you’re looking for a funky way to mix stripes and floral prints then I’m here to help! This OOTD is so fun because this combination is a bit unexpected. The trick to making this look work for you is making sure the base color of both your pieces are the same. The v-neck top is black with white stripes and the skirt is black with floral print. Because they have that black base in common they don’t conflict with each other. For the shoe I chose a comfortable sneaker that brings out the coral floral print in the skirt. Everything about this look ties in together. You could probably guess that I got this entire look from Old Navy, enjoy!

Stripes + Polka Dots

I seriously have a big place in my heart for the colors black and white. That place gets even bigger when I find black and white stripes or polka dots. For this look I mashed up both of my favorites for an easy casual look.

You may be wary of mixing stripes and polka dots but this works because both of the prints are small. From a distance it even looks like I’m just wearing black pants and a gray top but when you get a bit closer you can see that it’s patterned. The top is an over sized tank that is perfect for keeping cool. The pants are cropped and have a relaxed fit as well. This OOTD is a perfect no fuss look for a casual lunch with friends or even a movie. I like to have shoe options so you can compliment this OOTD with a heel or go for your chucks. Either way, you’ll look great. (Headed to work for a few hours? Just throw on a blazer!)
