Ruffled Hem | OOTD

The dress in this OOTD was sponsored by Shein.com so that I can bring you a honest review on some of their pieces.

I love a simple piece that I can make edgy casual or understated with feminine flare. This ruffled hem dress really does that for me. It doesn’t hurt that its in my favorite colors and the fabric is breathable but not too thin. I like the oversized fit because it doesn’t cling to me. When its really warm and humid outside thats the last thing you want as you move about your day. I got a size extra small and its still very oversized. I would say it runs big, so order one size smaller that what you normally wear.

I wanted to make this look casual yet edgy so I went for a dark lip, Nike hat and Nike sneakers. Lastly a gold necklace to balance everything out. Leave me a comment about how you would style this cool dress. I’d really love to hear it! Enjoy!

Cozy On The Go | OOTD

The casual gray jumpsuit in this OOTD was sponsored by DressLily.com so that I can bring you a honest review on some of their pieces.

Sometimes you just need that one thing that doesn’t wrinkle easily and is beyond comfortable to throw on quickly. (Like everyday, ha ha!) This jumper is a no brainer for those days. It can be worn alone or layered with a jacket or sweater like I’ve styled here. Sneakers and sandals look great with it and you’ll be out of the door in minutes. Need I say more?!?!

The quality of this jumper is surprisingly good. I ordered a medium because I don’t like things to fit too tightly and this was perfect. I would say it runs a bit small so order at least one size bigger than what you would normally wear. As far as texture, it is very soft and sort of thick. It will be perfect if it ever cools down in Houston but it is a little too warm to wear comfortably right now.

Leave me a comment about your favorite “on the go” outfit, enjoy!

Chambray Wrap | OOTD

Here is another OOTD from my trip to New York during NYFW. On this day, all I could think about was being comfortable yet pulled together. I decided on some tried and true classic styles and colors for a day of running around. This wrap top from A Leap of Style is a beautiful chambray color in a flatting style. The gathered sleeve definitely adds some interest while the wrap design is super flattering to my figure. Add in another flattering, classically cut pair of cigarette pants from Steve Guthrie’s collection and it’s a home run.

As I thought about choosing a shoe for this look I carefully considered how much walking I’d do and that helped me decide quickly. I mean, what’s true comfort with out a comfortable shoe? When my feet are happy, I’m happy so I opted for my trusty black converse.

I kept my accessories minimal with two sets of thin bracelets on each wrist and my stitch earrings from Myth & Symbol. My absolute favorite thing about this OOTD is that almost everything came from Houston. It brings me no greater joy than to support talented designers and businesses from my great city. Enjoy!

Victoria Dashiki | OOTD

I wore this victorian inspired dashiki in NewYork during NYFW 2016 and it made me feel like a ball of fire:untouchable and hot. The rich variations of reds, oranges and yellows give that blaze effect. It was as though I left a trail of flames in my every step. When you’re wearing the right clothing, it should make you feel invincible. I can’t tell you how many strangers loved this top and stopped me to ask about it. Every now and then, you must make a statement and on this day, I did it in this fabulously ruffled top. Enjoy!

Never Basic Tees | OOTD

I am beyond happy to bring you an OOTD sponsored by one of my absolute favorite places to shop. I have partnered with Old Navy to help you style tees  in a way that will make you feel like casual royalty.

Sometimes t-shirts can get a bad reputation because they seem so basic in nature. I have news for you. A great fitting, well made t-shirt in the right color and style is never basic! This OOTD shows you how bold and versatile a t-shirt can be with the right style tips.

For starters, take a #NeverBasic  Old Navy Tee that you love and build your look around it. To spice up a graphic tee like I did, go for something a little bit unexpected. I gave my relaxed fit Shine Bright tee a dressier look by layering it on top of a button down shirt in a contrasting  green color. The collar on my button down takes my tee to the next level, yet lets my tee do all of the talking. I paired my black denim jeans with this look because it provides even more contrast from what I have going on above the waist but it also ties into the color of the text on my tee. Lastly, in cooler weather one last layer does the trick. I’ve topped of the entire look with my medium length trench coat. One of the main reasons this look works so well is because of all the neutral tones. Keep that in mind as you pull together your look.

This is just ONE awesome way to style the heck out of a tee. Leave me a comment about how you can take your tee to level #NeverBasic , Enjoy!
