Mesh One Piece Swimsuit | OOTD

We are right in the middle of swimsuit season and it’s hotter than whatever Lil Wayne was dropping in Houston right now! All week I’ll be giving you some fresh ideas on how to feel and look sexy in a one piece swimsuit. I love a classic bikini just like the next girl but there is some understated sexy mixed with modesty when it comes to a one piece.

Of course I can’t get enough black things in my closet and this includes water undies. Lol I love that this particular swimsuit has what I like to call “vents” or mesh panelling. It just provides another place to catch a breeze if you ask me. It’s the perfect amount of mesh too! A little bit right above the bust line and a lot in the back. The back actually reminds me of a one piece swimsuit I had growing up. There’s a nice circular cut out that will leave you some crazy fun tan lines.

If you’re looking for swimwear more on the modest side but with a little hint of sexy, try a one piece with a bit of mesh panelling. It won’t disappoint. Enjoy!

Simple Prints | OOTD

At this point we all know this Houston summer will only get hotter so why not keep cool the way we used to when we were kids. Matching short sets!!! Some may also call it resort wear because it does give you that vacation feel. I can’t count how many my siblings and I had as kids. With two younger brothers and one older sister I bet my mom just wanted to keep things simple. It takes all the guess work out of getting dressed. You know you have a top and bottom with the same print so getting dressed is a breeze.

The hardest part about this look was choosing the print. I went for my favorite colors (black and white) and threw on my trusty wedges. All done! The leaf print just really makes me feel like I should be relaxing so I will be doing so on my sofa until my trip in July. Lol When it comes to fit the top is a crop style so it’s boxy and loose. The shorts are loose as well but have a high waist. This is good news for people like my who enjoy a good crop top but don’t want to show too much belly button. Just a little sliver of school is perfect.

Leave me a comment and tell me what your favorite childhood summer gear is, Enjoy!

Back to Basics | OOTD

You slept through your alarm or didn’t set it. You hit the snooze 4 times and now you’re going to be late! When you’re in a rush and you need to get out of the house quickly go back to your basics. Black, white, a crew neck t-shirt, and jeans always do the trick for me. I don’t have to worry about matching, other colors, or it being comfy. It’s all so easy and best of all, you can’t mess it up. Lol

Leave me a comment of what you grab out of your closet when you’re really short on time. Enjoy!

Simple White And Bold Gold | OOTD

First off I was able to wear this dress to an event without getting it completely filthy! (Yay for me) Next, this dress was so easy to wear it was almost like wearing pajamas. It is one of my favorite colors and was cool and airy for a humid Houston night. Outside of all the comfort, the details are what made me fall for this dress.

The top and sleeves of the dress has a mesh lattice effect that is a different texture than the bottom. At the hem the threads are loose and it almost looks like there are mini tassels hanging from the dress.

My gold accessories compliment the monochromatic color of the dress and are a real show stopper. It’s almost like you have to take in the gold collar necklace and cuff before you notice the details of the dress. They are big, chunky and bold; opposite of the dress. As a rule of thumb, I always pair a simple outfit with bold accessories and vise versa. The more extravagant the clothing, the simpler the jewelry.

Leave me a comment and tell me what your favorite bold accessories are! Enjoy!

The Power of Classics | OOTD

The first thing you need to know about this OOTD is that the dress I’m wearing belonged to my mother and is over 30 years old. My mom wore this dress to my dad’s prom when they were 18. At this time in my parents lives my three siblings and I were no where in the picture. That’s only funny because my dad constantly reminds me that at my age he already had four kids. Lol

This dress proves the power of classics. This creme color, and design will forever be relevant and in style. Next time you’re out shopping think about the ratio between classic staple pieces compared to trendy items. You’re wardrobe will last longer if you have a good set of basics to mix with trendier items. Enjoy!
